Home Remedies For Removing Age Spots

Age spots are also known as sun spots, liver spots or lentigines.  They are harmless flat, brown-ish black discolourations of the skin.  They form in between the two top layers of skin, ie between the dermis and the epidermis.

They are collections of skin pigment called melanin which are caused by our exposure to the sun.  Sometimes this pigment doesn't distribute itself evenly and it collects in little "clumps" which are usually seen on the face or the backs of hands.

Age spots usually form on the face and on the hands because these are the areas on our bodies that are most exposed to the sun.

The older we get, the more sun we have been exposed to so the more age spots we incur.

Consequently the best way of avoiding sun spots is to stay out of the sun or wear a good sunscreen when outdoors.
